Project Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide mechanical engineering guidance and project management support for industrial facilities and infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, from concept through commissioning and hand‑over, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of engineering standards, specifications and procedures.
• Monitor contractor performance against approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Manage site activities to meet schedule and budget constraints.
• Prepare and present progress reports, forecasts and status updates to management.
• Lead projects through concept, scope development, technical evaluation, execution, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Coordinate engineering activities and pre‑operational testing for successful start‑up.
• Evaluate project proposals and provide technical recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's or Project Management certification advantageous).
• Minimum 10 years of project, design and engineering experience in heavy industrial environments, preferably brownfield projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, budgeting and contractual requirements.
• Proven experience supervising installation and commissioning of bulk material handling equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
