Quality Supervisor – Coating

About the role

The Quality Supervisor – Coating will lead and monitor all coating activities on offshore and oil‑&‑gas projects. You will ensure that surface preparation, painting and final coating meet the approved Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise surface preparation, blasting, and cleanliness (SA 2.5 / SA 3) and verify environmental conditions before coating.
• Conduct inspections for profile measurement, coating thickness (DFT/WFT), holiday testing and adhesion testing.
• Validate paint batch certificates, material approvals and maintain traceability of all coating materials.
• Prepare and record daily inspection reports (DIRs) and support final QC dossiers.
• Coordinate with production teams, client inspectors and third‑party auditors, attend inspection requests and witness hold points.
• Raise Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), drive corrective actions and monitor rework closure.
• Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines, safe handling of chemicals, paints and solvents.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Corrosion Engineering.
• 5–10 years of coating inspection experience, preferably on offshore platforms, oil‑&‑gas fabrication yards or EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of international coating standards (ISO 12944, NACE, SSPC) and offshore paint systems.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills with the ability to interact with clients and third‑party inspectors.
