Resident Engineer

About the role

The Resident Engineer will serve as the on‑site representative for a major port project in Oman, ensuring that construction activities align with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. This senior position requires strong leadership to manage contractors, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction progress and verify compliance with contracts, technical specifications, and approved designs.
• Act as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) representative on site with full authority for day‑to‑day supervision and coordination.
• Lead progress review meetings, prepare minutes, and distribute them to all parties.
• Monitor overall contract progress, resolve technical and financial issues, and ensure timely approvals from authorities.
• Prepare budget estimates, cost‑control measures, and work plans to meet physical and financial targets.
• Issue site instructions, certify contractor bills, and manage payment advice to the client.
• Oversee final account statements, retention releases, and defect liability remediation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or similar on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with clients, engineers, contractors, and local authorities.
• Ability to work full‑time on site and manage a multidisciplinary team.
