Senior Data Scientist

About the role

RQMNA is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join its national platform team in Muscat. You will turn large‑scale government data into predictive models and evidence‑based insights that directly improve public services for millions of citizens.

Key responsibilities

• Translate government and business challenges into data‑science problems and select appropriate methods.
• Build, validate, and deploy predictive and statistical models such as classification, regression, forecasting, clustering, and anomaly detection.
• Design and run experiments and causal analyses to ensure decisions are evidence‑driven.
• Conduct deep exploratory analysis and feature engineering across a multi‑tenant data estate.
• Apply geospatial, graph, and time‑series analytics to uncover patterns across citizens, entities, and events.
• Partner with ML engineering to move models from notebooks to production, including monitoring and retraining.
• Integrate responsible AI practices—fairness, bias mitigation, and explainability—into all solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑ready models that have impacted real decisions or services.
• Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning with the ability to match methods to problems.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Commitment to responsible AI, including fairness and explainability.
