Senior Design Manager – Breakwater

About the role

Mace is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the design and assurance of breakwater and related marine structures for a large‑scale port development. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a strategic infrastructure project that supports regional economic growth and net‑zero carbon goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead review and assurance of breakwater design and associated marine structures.
• Ensure all designs comply with contract requirements, technical standards and constructability criteria.
• Provide technical oversight to support safe and effective site delivery.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify and manage carbon emissions and reduction measures.

Required profile

• Registered Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering (post‑graduate study in Marine Structures preferred).
• 15+ years of experience, including at least 10 years in breakwater design for construction.
• Experience on a minimum of two port design projects in a similar capacity.
• Proven track record in site‑based delivery, supervision and contract compliance.
• Consultancy background with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
