Senior Flowable Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Flowable Developer to join our team in Muscat and design, build and maintain long‑running, cross‑system business processes for government‑scale digital services. You will work with Flowable’s BPMN, CMMN and DMN engines, integrate AI agents where appropriate, and ensure robust, auditable automation across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement long‑running business processes using Flowable BPMN orchestration.
• Model unstructured, human‑driven work with CMMN case management.
• Externalize business rules as DMN decision tables and services.
• Extend Flowable with Java, REST APIs, custom service tasks, listeners and event handling.
• Orchestrate across multiple systems with compensation, timers, retries and a single audit trail.
• Build human task flows including forms, assignment, escalation, delegation and deadlines.
• Integrate AI agents into processes with clear human‑in‑the‑loop guardrails.
• Tune Flowable for performance on a multitenant platform, define patterns and mentor the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade, stateful Flowable solutions.
• Deep knowledge of Flowable BPMN, CMMN and DMN and when to apply each.
• Strong Java development skills and ability to extend the engine with custom logic.
• Expertise in handling exceptions, compensation, human tasks and audit requirements.
• Ability to differentiate orchestration from integration and design each correctly.
• Interest in AI‑assisted orchestration and pragmatic implementation.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
