Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide high‑quality, commercially‑focused legal advice to support OQ8’s business activities. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role ensures compliance with laws, regulations and contractual obligations while protecting the company’s interests across corporate, commercial, financing and project matters.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely legal advice on contracts, finance, commercial, corporate and project issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements, including project contracts and commercial arrangements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks associated with business initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on potential impacts.
• Coordinate with external counsel, manage legal costs and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Support corporate governance activities and compliance programs.
• Assist procurement, financing and operational teams during negotiations.
• Handle dispute resolution and legal case management.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience in corporate, commercial or project law.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and advise senior business leaders.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial mindset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Experience managing external counsel and legal budgets.
