Senior VAT Consultant – Indirect Tax

About the role

KPMG’s Indirect Tax practice is seeking a Senior Consultant specializing in Value Added Tax (VAT) to join its expanding team. The role involves working on complex projects for private and public sector clients across the GCC region, delivering high‑quality tax advisory and compliance services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate client proposals in collaboration with colleagues.
• Coordinate multi‑jurisdictional engagements with other KPMG offices and review their inputs.
• Ensure adherence to risk processes and consult the risk team when deviations arise.
• Build and sustain relationships with client management, acting as an ambassador for the firm.
• Manage multiple priorities for internal and external stakeholders while identifying and mitigating risks.
• Contribute to designing and implementing tax solutions alongside senior colleagues.
• Identify development opportunities, seek greater responsibility, and enhance personal skill set.
• Deliver high‑quality engagement work, maintain attention to detail, and uphold the firm’s reputation.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience in Indirect Tax, specifically VAT, within the GCC region.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a strong academic record.
• Professional qualifications such as ADIT, ACA, CPA, ACCA, a Master’s in Taxation or a legal qualification are preferred.
• Experience in VAT compliance, advisory, audit/assessments and tax due‑diligence engagements.
• Knowledge of Excise and Customs duties is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of tax accounting and business development.
