Shopping Experience Assistant – Retail

About the role

The Shopping Experience Assistant enhances the customer journey at IKEA Oman by managing the Smaland play area, supporting self‑scan stations, and assisting at the information desk. You will be the friendly face that greets visitors, ensures safety for children, and helps shoppers make the most of their store visit.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers upon arrival.
• Explain the Smaland admission policy professionally.
• Prioritise child safety and maintain a secure playroom environment.
• Make announcements and page parents when issues arise.
• Provide a safe, welcoming atmosphere for children.
• Address all customer queries promptly and courteously.
• Ensure shopping tools, catalogues, bags, and trolleys are readily available.
• Assist customers with self‑scan equipment when needed.
• Follow all system procedures and store policies.
• Brief the Duty Manager on complaints requiring management attention.
• Adhere to emergency and safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• First Aid certification meeting local standards.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar customer‑service role.
• Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset and ability to work well in a team.
