Tax GCR Consultant – MENA

About the role

EY is seeking a Consultant for its MENA Tax GCR (Global Compliance & Reporting) team in Muscat. You will support complex engagements and contribute to the growth of the GCR practice, combining technical skills with commercial, legislative and industry knowledge to help clients with their compliance and reporting needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in providing tax services and manage clients' compliance and reporting needs
• Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships and ensure the highest quality of service
• Help manage client engagements day to day, monitor progress and deliverables, set up standardised processes and anticipate risks
• Escalate issues as appropriate and support performance-improvement solutions
• Work with high-performing teams, support junior team members and contribute to a positive learning culture
• Ensure adherence to Tax Quality guidelines

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, taxation or a related field
• MBA, master's or another advanced degree and/or professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA or ADIT
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international tax rules and regulations, with at least 1-2 years of experience, ideally in a large professional services firm
• Background in tax accounting and tax auditing, ideally in a large professional services firm
• Experience with multinational clients and a multi-cultural environment, and in-depth commercial, legislative and industry knowledge
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and prioritisation skills, and comfort working across borders with large amounts of data
