Traffic Management Supervisor

About the role

The Traffic Management Supervisor leads the Traffic Management team responsible for moving GPMS‑prepositioned cargo by land, air, and sea. The role ensures accurate planning, execution, and visibility of shipments while maintaining compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and prioritize daily traffic management operations, including GPMS, ECA, PCO and ACO taskers.
• Train personnel, develop work standards, and supervise the use of automated freight processing systems.
• Verify shipment data such as nomenclatures, quantities, TCNs, TACs, hazardous material classifications, and ITAR certifications.
• Prepare shipping documents, assign Transportation Control Numbers, produce labels, and maintain manifest and TCN logs.
• Monitor cargo movements using systems like LTS, GFM, CMOS, ILS‑S, GATES, ICODES, IBS, JCM, WPM Management Toolset, GART, IGC, RFIDITV, GDSS‑2 and SMS to ensure in‑transit visibility.
• Ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement, ISO 9001 QMS, and International Trade and Arms Regulation (ITAR).

Required profile

• Experience supervising logistics or transportation personnel in a government or defense environment.
• Strong understanding of freight classification, commodity coding, and transportation funding obligations.
• Ability to conduct training, identify deficiencies, and develop corrective plans.
• Attention to detail for accurate data entry and documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Logistics Tool Suite (LTS) and Global Freight Management (GFM).
• Hands‑on experience with Cargo Movement Operating System (CMOS) and Integrated Logistics Supply (ILS‑S).
• Knowledge of Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) and Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES).
• Familiarity with Integrated Booking System (IBS), Joint Container Management (JCM) and Wood Packaging Materials (WPM) Management Toolset.
• Use of Global Asset Reporting Tool (GART), Integrated Data Environment/Global Transportation Network Convergence (IGC), RFIDITV Tracking Portal, Global Decision Support Systems (GDSS‑2) and Single Mobility System (SMS).
• Completion of AMMO‑43, AMMO‑62, hazardous materials transportation courses, and WPM certification.
