Treasury and Insurance Manager

About the role

The Treasury and Insurance Manager will lead the development and execution of the organization’s financial, debt, investment and insurance strategies. Reporting to executive management and working closely with the board, the role ensures optimal cash flow, risk mitigation and maximized returns across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement treasury, debt management, insurance and investment policies aligned with business objectives.
• Govern treasury and insurance functions, including ERP integration and end‑to‑end banking connectivity.
• Collaborate with legal, procurement, business development, asset management, operations and risk teams to provide strategic funding and risk‑transfer guidance.
• Maintain and develop relationships with banks, insurers, reinsurers, brokers, government bodies and shareholders.
• Identify funding sources, optimize liquidity structures and lead cash‑flow management.
• Develop risk‑management policies specific to the mining industry and evaluate creditworthiness of partners.
• Monitor market conditions, commodity prices, interest rates and currency fluctuations to identify risks and opportunities.
• Recommend investment strategies, manage debt exposure and oversee refinancing or restructuring activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and accounting standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate treasury, debt management and insurance within a complex, asset‑intensive environment.
• Proven ability to work with senior executives and boards on strategic financial decisions.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of identifying investment opportunities and mitigating financial risks.
• Experience in the mining sector or similar high‑risk industries is preferred.
