Technical Manager – Road Projects

About the role

The Technical Manager will lead the engineering side of road construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring designs, specifications, and execution plans meet quality, safety and regulatory standards. You will work closely with project managers, consultants and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve road design drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Lead development, review and optimisation of road alignments, pavements, drainage and intersections.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering and site teams and resolve complex design and construction issues.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and stakeholders, and align technical requirements with project schedules.
• Review method statements, work plans and shop drawings, and ensure QA/QC procedures are applied.
• Monitor material approvals, testing processes and act as the technical point of contact with clients, consultants and authorities.
• Participate in technical meetings, prepare submissions, reports and presentations.
• Lead value‑engineering initiatives and prepare temporary traffic management plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• 10–15+ years of experience in road and infrastructure projects.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• High attention to detail.
