Electrical Engineer – 400kV Substation (Renewables/Transmission) – Duqm, Oman

About the role

SEGULA Technologies Middle East is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, construction and commissioning of 400kV substation and associated grid‑interconnection works for renewable energy projects in Duqm, Oman. The role involves supervising high‑voltage installations, overseeing overhead and underground transmission lines, and coordinating with the national transmission network.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction of 400kV substations and related grid‑interconnection infrastructure.
• Oversee HV/MV electrical installation works and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Monitor and manage overhead transmission line (OHL) construction.
• Supervise underground cable (UGC) installation, testing and commissioning.
• Review technical submissions, method statements and inspection documentation.
• Identify and resolve construction/interface issues, coordinating corrective actions.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Coordinate interfaces with the Oman electricity transmission network and relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in HV/MV substations and grid‑connection projects.
• Proven experience with 400kV systems, overhead transmission lines and underground HV cable systems.
• Strong background in construction supervision and commissioning.
• Experience interfacing with Oman/OETC transmission network is highly advantageous.
