Senior Accountant

About the role

Bin Al Sheikh Holding is looking for a highly experienced Senior Accountant to manage accounting operations for its retail and commercial property portfolio in Muscat, Oman. The role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations, and providing financial insights for management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting tasks including general ledger, journal entries, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee accounting for retail and commercial properties, tracking rental income, lease agreements, tenant accounts and operating expenses.
• Reconcile rental accounts, monitor collections, and handle lease‑related income and expenses.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes and produce budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Omani regulations and internal policies, and coordinate audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5–7 years of real‑estate accounting experience, specifically in retail and commercial properties.
• Strong knowledge of lease accounting, rental income recognition, tenant ledgers and property expenses.
• Understanding of IFRS, internal controls and audit procedures in Oman.
• Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA) are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS standards.
