Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Surveyor

About the role

G Map LLC is seeking a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Surveyor to join its on‑site team in Muscat, Oman. The successful candidate will operate GPR equipment to locate underground utilities, analyse subsurface data and produce accurate survey deliverables for infrastructure and energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute GPR surveys, selecting appropriate antenna frequencies and establishing scan grids aligned with project drawings and control points.
• Detect and map underground utilities such as electrical, telecom, water, sewer, oil & gas pipelines and drainage networks, using integrated methods with Electromagnetic Locator (EML) and Leica Total Station/GNSS for geo‑referencing.
• Mark detected utilities on‑site and transfer markings into CAD and GIS deliverables.
• Process GPR data using Proceq GPR Live, DXplore or similar interpretation software and prepare utility layout drawings, GIS maps and as‑built reports.
• Maintain and calibrate GPR equipment, perform daily inspections, manage batteries and ensure secure data storage and backup.
• Ensure all work complies with client specifications, industry standards and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating GPR equipment for underground utility detection and subsurface investigations.
• Ability to interpret GPR data and produce detailed survey reports.
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards.
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
