Resident Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Resident Engineer to lead on‑site supervision of water‑related infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring that all works for water networks, wastewater, sewerage and pump stations are executed in line with design, standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect daily site activities for water network, wastewater, sewerage and pump station works.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications and client standards such as Nama Water.
• Monitor installation of pipelines (HDPE, DI, uPVC), fittings, valves and related infrastructure.
• Inspect excavation, bedding, pipe laying, backfilling and compaction works.
• Witness pressure testing, hydro‑testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and project engineers on daily operations.
• Report non‑conformances, ensure corrective actions and maintain daily inspection reports and site records.
• Promote HSE compliance and safe working practices on site.
• Assist in material inspections and approvals.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in water projects.
• Successfully completed at least two projects as Resident Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of water network, wastewater, sewerage and pump station construction.
• Ability to work on‑site and coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• HDPE, DI and uPVC pipeline installation.
• Pressure testing and hydro‑testing procedures.
• Commissioning of water infrastructure.
• Inspection and material approval processes.
