Account Specialist

About the role

The Account Specialist will support the Head of Accounting & Reporting in ensuring the finance department operates in line with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on accurate financial reporting, compliance, and coordination of audits across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, taxation and prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS on a quarterly, monthly and yearly basis.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial formats, policies and external regulations (CMA, Ministry of Finance, OCI parent company).
• Prepare profit & loss accounts, balance sheets for OCI & Group and produce monthly MIS for management.
• Maintain general, hedge, payroll and fixed‑asset accounting, including routine accruals and provisions.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, review the trial balance and address audit‑related issues.
• Handle XBRL reporting and meet all CMA/XBRL regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with semi‑qualified ACCA/Chartered/Cost Accountant status.
• Minimum 5 years of finance experience in a large, listed manufacturing company.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to mentor junior accountants.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• General Ledger Management and account consolidation.
• Proficiency in XBRL reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP accounting modules.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
