Accountant

About the role

An accountant is needed in Oman to manage the company's accounting, tax and audit matters, cash handling, invoicing and financial reporting, including liaison with the China headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the internal financial accounting regulations under headquarters guidance and implement them once approved.
• Record and supervise revenue, expenditure and costs, and all aspects of operating activities, receivables and payables; complete monthly and year-end reports.
• Handle internal and external tax and audit checks, prepare documents on time and maintain good relations with tax and audit authorities.
• Manage cash received, prepare vouchers and register bank statements, issue and keep invoices and receipts for clients.
• Take part in the yearly budget and monthly capital plan, analyse deviations from actuals and review staff expense claims.
• Act as the point of contact for banks, auditors and tax authorities, and report externally to the China HQ office on time and with good quality.
• Design and negotiate company financing scenarios and execute them.

Required profile

• Omani national with Oman experience and a valid Oman driving licence.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's in finance, accounting or business management; at least 5 years of financial or accounting experience.
• Knowledge of Oman tax law and regulations.
• Accounting qualification such as CPA or CA (not mandatory).
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Chinese or English, with Arabic as an added advantage.

Required skills

• Familiarity with accounting software, SAP and ERP.
• Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
