Corporate Tax Assistant Manager

About the role

The Corporate Tax Assistant Manager will manage a large portfolio of corporate tax engagements for both local and international clients in Oman. This senior, client‑facing position involves delivering high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services while supporting business development and technology adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review complex corporate tax compliance and advisory engagements for local and international clients.
• Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and cross‑border transactions.
• Act as primary contact for client stakeholders and tax authorities, handling high‑level discussions and audit defence strategies.
• Review technical deliverables such as tax reports, memos and advisory documentation.
• Monitor and advise on regulatory changes in Oman and globally, including OECD and BEPS updates.
• Ensure service delivery aligns with KPMG’s risk management and compliance standards.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior staff.
• Support business development by preparing proposals and contributing to client pitches.
• Promote efficiency through technology and automation tools in tax processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Professional tax qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CTA or ACA (mandatory).
• 6–8 years of experience in corporate tax advisory and compliance.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Oman and GCC tax regulations.
• Strong expertise in international tax laws, OECD guidelines and the BEPS framework.
• Transfer pricing and cross‑border transaction tax structuring.
• Strategic tax planning for mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.
