Data Engineer

About the role

KalSoft is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join its Oman team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration and warehouse solutions, ensuring high performance, availability, and data quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and create SSIS mappings using transformations such as OLEDB Command, Conditional Split, Lookup, Aggregate, Multicast, and Derived Column.
• Develop dynamic SSIS packages for cross‑platform data migration, validation, and archiving across multiple RDBMS.
• Write complex stored procedures, user‑defined functions, and SQL scripts to support ETL processes.
• Implement ETL and data integration workflows for data‑warehouse reporting.
• Build and maintain SSAS solutions, including storage, partitions, aggregations, MDX calculations, and data‑mining models.
• Support BI reporting with SQL and MDX queries and ensure proper data modeling using Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Implement and support high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions for BI environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise SQL Server performance and ETL workflows.
• Perform SQL Server maintenance and automation tasks such as backup, restore, and log management.

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands‑on experience with SQL Server administration, development, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
• Strong experience in data warehousing, ETL design, and BI reporting.
• Proven ability to work with Star and Snowflake schema designs.
• Experience with high‑availability and disaster‑recovery implementations in BI environments.
