Deputy General Manager - Planning

About the role

The Deputy General Manager – Planning will lead the development and control of project schedules for large‑scale fabrication and erection programmes. Reporting to senior management, this role ensures that all planning activities are aligned with engineering, procurement, and construction milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Develop master project schedules (Level 1‑3) and detailed fabrication/erection schedules.
• Define work breakdown structures (WBS) and establish engineering, procurement, fabrication, and load‑out milestones.
• Track progress against baseline schedules, identify delays, risks, and bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate resource planning for manpower, equipment, and yard capacity.
• Manage interfaces with engineering, procurement, fabrication teams, and QA/QC to ensure seamless integration.
• Establish project control systems for schedule tracking, cost monitoring, and progress measurement, producing daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Identify planning risks, perform delay analysis, and develop contingency and recovery strategies.
• Oversee planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and E‑ALPS/ERP systems, ensuring data accuracy.
• Participate in client meetings, present schedule reviews, and address client queries.
• Lead, mentor, and standardise practices for planning engineers and planners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project planning and scheduling for large industrial or construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a planning team and coordinate across multiple disciplines.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
