Director of Learning and Development

About the role

The Director of Learning and Development will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of training programs that align with the organization’s mission and vision. Reporting to the Executive Committee, this role ensures that all learning initiatives support business results and enhance employee performance across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and develop customized training programs covering product knowledge, customer service, leadership, and company philosophy.
• Manage and administer mandatory compliance training such as CPR, fire safety, OSHA, harassment, and food handling.
• Deliver core training initiatives including orientation, leadership skills, trainer certification, diversity training, and management development.
• Incorporate adult learning principles and adjust methodologies to maximize training effectiveness.
• Oversee the Management Development Program and coach managers to improve performance.
• Measure training outcomes to ensure a positive return on investment.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a 4‑year degree with certification as a trainer.
• Strong understanding of employee development and organizational training needs.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leadership and property teams.

Required skills

• Certified trainer qualification.
