Field Engineering Program – Generator Specialist

About the role

The Field Engineering Program (FEP) is an entry‑level pathway at GE Vernova’s FieldCore division, designed to develop future Technical Field Advisors who specialize in generator equipment. Participants receive a blend of classroom training, online modules and hands‑on field experience while traveling to customer sites to support power‑generation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate on‑site activities for generator installation, maintenance and calibration.
• Perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs and alignment tasks on gas/steam turbine equipment.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on operation, troubleshooting and upkeep.
• Prepare technical reports, job status updates, material orders and quotations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental and EHS policies.

Required profile

• Entry‑level graduate with a strong interest in power‑generation technology.
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
• Ability to work safely in field environments and follow strict procedural guidelines.
• Analytical mindset with good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.

• Interpretation of mechanical flow and instrument diagrams.
• Dial alignment techniques.
• Laser alignment techniques.
• Operation of thermal growth measurement equipment.
