Field Service Engineer – Oman

About the role

ABB is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its service team in Oman. You will execute medium‑complexity service tasks on medium‑voltage (MV) and low‑voltage (LV) switchgear, automation PLCs and related equipment, ensuring first‑time‑right delivery for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for MV and LV systems.
• Receive and review project documentation and technical data before testing and commissioning.
• Prepare and obtain necessary permits, gate passes and power‑on/off authorisations.
• Verify hardware connections and install devices according to FAT results.
• Use diagnostic and application tools to confirm correct functionality.
• Provide feedback to Engineering for drawing corrections or scheme improvements.
• Troubleshoot hardware and functional mismatches during site testing.
• Update system documentation with configuration changes and mark‑ups.
• Obtain SAT certificates and compile “As Commissioned” documentation for hand‑over.

Required profile

• Ability to follow ABB standard processes, quality and safety guidelines.
• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Effective communication with customers and internal teams.
• Experience in planning and executing service work on‑site.
