Freelance Compliance Analyst – AI Training Projects

About the role

This freelance position supports AI‑training projects by applying regulatory expertise to evaluate compliance artifacts. You will work remotely on a project‑by‑project basis, helping leading tech companies ensure their AI systems meet legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate rule‑application scenarios by reviewing advertisements, disclosures, or policies against specific regulations.
• Write sanctions‑alert disposition cases with structured false‑positive reasoning and escalation documentation.
• Build compliance testing scenarios, including sample selection, test design, findings documentation, and examiner‑ready conclusion memos.
• Identify policy gaps where internal policies are silent, contradictory, or outdated relative to regulatory requirements.
• Document all test cases with precise regulatory citations to the exact subsections.

Required profile

• Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in compliance, audit, legal, risk management, or financial services.
• Current or recent experience in regulatory or financial‑crime roles.
• Strong habit of citation discipline – always pinpoint the exact regulatory subsection.
• Professional certifications such as CRCM, CAMS, or equivalent are a strong plus; former regulatory examiner or inspector status is also valued.
• Advanced written English proficiency (C1+).
