Head of Employee Relations

About the role

The Head of Employee Relations leads the function to ensure fair, compliant, and consistent people practices across the organization. This senior HR position provides strategic advisory support to senior leaders, oversees governance, policy compliance, investigations, engagement, and people risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the employee relations strategy, governance framework, policies and procedures.
• Provide expert advice to senior management on complex employee relations matters, grievances, disciplinary cases and investigations.
• Support leaders on workforce planning, performance management, organizational change, employee engagement and leadership capability.
• Ensure HR policies and practices comply with Oman Labour Law, internal standards and audit requirements.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit and business stakeholders on employment matters and people‑related risks.
• Promote a fair, respectful, inclusive and high‑performance work environment through proactive communication and timely resolution of concerns.
• Lead, coach and develop the Employee Relations, HR Business Partnering and Policy teams.
• Prepare management reports and insights on cases, compliance, engagement trends and people risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Law, Industrial Relations or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM‑SCP, SPHR) preferred.
• 10–12 years progressive HR experience, including employee relations, HR business partnering and people risk management.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role advising senior management and managing HR teams.
• Strong knowledge of Oman Labour Law and HR governance.
• Fluency in English; Arabic preferred.
