Installed Based Service Engineer

About the role

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Installed Based Service Engineer to join its Muscat team. You will be responsible for delivering field services, maintenance and project delivery on the company’s LV/MV customer installed base across Oman.

Key responsibilities

• Operate as LV/MV specialist, handling protection, troubleshooting, erection and maintenance of MV and LV equipment.
• Perform mechanical bus‑bar retrofits, spare‑parts management, and preparation of offers and contracts.
• Program, test and commission protection relays (SEPAM, MICOM, VIP) and other Schneider Electric products such as MC set, Okken, PIX, GenieEvo, GHA, GMA, WS.
• Interface with customers to clarify technical issues, identify service growth opportunities and ensure successful project delivery.
• Execute technical tasks following notifications, supporting asset‑management and engineering projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 8‑10 years of experience in installation, mechanical retrofit, testing, commissioning and maintenance of LV/MV systems.
• Strong communication and customer‑facing skills.
• Willingness to work flexible onsite hours, including on‑shore/off‑shore assignments.

Required skills

• LV/MV protection and troubleshooting.
• Mechanical bus‑bar retrofit.
• LV switchgear knowledge (Okken, Blok set).
• Masterpact NT/NW, Compact Breakers, Micrologic LV Trip units.
• Protection relay programming (SEPAM, MICOM, VIP) and testing.
• Schneider Electric product expertise (MC set, Okken, PIX, GenieEvo, GHA, GMA, WS).
• GIS switchgear experience.
• Proficiency with Windows MS Office and LV specialization software.
