Lead Auditor

About the role

The Lead Auditor provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services to strengthen the bank's risk management, internal controls, governance and operational efficiency. Acting as the third line of defense, the role supports the board, audit committee and senior management in identifying risks, ensuring regulatory compliance and recommending improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute risk‑based audit plans, define scope and perform fieldwork.
• Identify, assess and test key risks across liquidity, operations, regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
• Examine financial records, transactions and operational activities; interview staff and test controls.
• Document audit work in accordance with internal methodology and keep the audit team updated.
• Prepare clear audit reports with findings and actionable recommendations, obtain management responses.
• Track remediation of audit recommendations and report on outstanding issues.
• Participate in investigations, fraud reviews, advisory projects and ad‑hoc assignments.
• Maintain independence and adhere to professional standards (e.g., IIA).
• Assist senior audit management in meeting the annual audit plan and drive continuous improvement of audit processes.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CFA, CIA, ACCA are a plus.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in public accounting and/or private industry, with strong knowledge of internal controls, internal audit, risk management and operational improvement.
• Experience in a Big 4 firm or comparable environment is desirable.
