Payment System Tester – Compliance Mandate

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payment System Tester to join our Cards Product Agile Squad in Muscat. The role focuses on compliance‑driven user testing of card issuing and acquiring solutions, including POS, QR, payment gateways and various card types. You will work closely with product owners, developers and external partners to ensure that all payment functionalities meet regulatory and client mandates.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, execute and document UAT test cases for card issuing, acquiring and settlement processes.
• Validate compliance requirements from client bulletins and regulatory bodies.
• Report defects, track issues and coordinate resolutions with development and operations teams.
• Manage end‑to‑end Visa and MasterCard certification activities, including use of UL, VTS and simulator tools.
• Collaborate with Visa, MasterCard and OEM vendors (e.g., Apple Pay, Samsung Wallet) to define certification scope.
• Utilize the Bank Muscat testing tool and support automation testing initiatives.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in banking payment systems, specifically testing debit, credit and prepaid card solutions.
• Strong understanding of card issuing and acquiring lifecycles, transaction authorization and clearing.
• Familiarity with compliance mandates and certification processes for Visa and MasterCard.
• University degree in any discipline.
