Roads Engineer

About the role

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG is hiring a full-time Roads Engineer in Muscat. The role covers the planning, coordination and technical supervision of road works on site, working closely with the drafting team, supervisors, inspectors and the client.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input for shop drawings to the draftsman and liaise with the engineer on approvals
• Prepare method statements in line with QA/QC procedures
• Plan the works, coordinate with the planning team to match the project schedule and estimate material and resource needs
• Arrange materials and resources and oversee site execution with the supervisors
• Liaise with the client and consultant on technical queries and issues
• Coordinate with the QC inspector for inspection and test requirements and records, and with the quantity surveyor for work quantities
• Prepare markup and as-built drawings with the supervisors and draughtsman
• Assist the storekeeper in inspecting materials delivered directly to site

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering
• 6-8 years of onsite experience in road excavation, backfilling, sub-base, pavements, road furniture, utility works, riprap/gabion protection and drainage channels
