Sales Engineer - Cleaning Equipment

About the role

A full-time Sales Engineer position is open in Oman for the sale of cleaning equipment. The role covers managing sales and marketing operations, winning tenders and inquiries from government and public sector clients, and building a grassroots sales network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sales and marketing operations, meet business targets and compete against organised and unorganised players
• Win tenders and inquiries from government and public sectors, handle government clients and prepare quotes
• Coordinate with principals: provide market support and guidance, frame pricing policies, resolve issues and ensure continued business
• Prepare quotations using supplier information, cost standards and technical data from quality, manufacturing engineering and design
• Develop strategies and campaigns to reach new market segments and build a grassroots sales network
• Handle customer and supplier relations

Required profile

• Mechanical engineer with 4 to 5 years of experience in sales; knowledge of cleaning equipment preferred
• BE Mechanical degree preferred
• Experience selling cleaning equipment in the GCC; experience in Oman is an added advantage
• Preferred: experience with one brand such as Karcher, Nilfisk, Roots, Hako or Diversy

Required skills

• English reading and writing
• Knowledge of international sourcing and project logistics
• Ability to track business figures such as billing, gross profit, inventory, debtors and services

Salary range: OMR 700 to 1,000 depending on relevant experience.
