SAP Technical Integration Consultant (E-Invoicing)

About the role

An experienced SAP Technical Integration Consultant is sought to build, customise and support integrations between SAP ERP environments and a third-party e-Invoicing platform. The consultant analyses existing SAP implementations, identifies financial and tax data, develops integration components, transforms data and ensures reliable communication with the e-Invoicing platform. The role requires hands-on technical development in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing SAP ECC and S/4HANA configurations, interfaces and data structures.
• Develop and customise integration components to extract invoice, credit note, debit note, customer, tax and related financial data.
• Build ABAP programs, function modules, BAPIs, RFC interfaces, enhancements and other SAP components.
• Implement OData, REST, SOAP or other integration methods, and map and transform invoice and tax data.
• Support outbound invoice transmission and inbound processing of statuses, validations and errors.
• Implement validation, logging, exception handling and retry mechanisms.
• Use SAP CPI / Cloud Integration, SAP PI/PO or other middleware when needed; middleware experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Coordinate with functional consultants on billing, finance, tax and accounting data.
• Handle connectivity, authentication, testing, defect resolution and deployment, and prepare technical specs, mappings, documentation and handover materials.

Required profile

• 4-7 years of experience.
• Project-based / contract engagement, with potential for long-term work.
• Ability to troubleshoot integration issues independently.
• Preferred: e-invoicing, tax reporting or regulatory integration projects, GCC e-invoicing requirements, and experience with SAP functional teams on finance and tax.

Required skills

• SAP ABAP development and debugging.
• SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA integration experience.
• SAP SD and FI data structures.
• BAPI, RFC, IDoc, OData, REST, SOAP, JSON and XML.
• SAP CPI / Integration Suite or PI/PO exposure preferred.
