IT Manager - Property Information Resources

About the role

Aloft Hotels, part of Marriott International, is hiring an IT Manager (Information Resources) for its property in Muscat, Oman. The role sits within the property management staff and supports the property's technology and hospitality objectives. It covers technology planning, decision-making, implementation and maintenance, and may involve managing property systems technicians, working with vendors, owners, the Executive Committee and property staff.

Key responsibilities

• Meet client technology needs by programming, writing software, setting up functions, entering data and processing information
• Monitor, verify and manage the acquisition and maintenance of property-based systems, and inspect and repair equipment
• Verify that computer and network operations are monitored, backups and recovery run on schedule, and that hardware, operating and application systems are maintained
• Manage IR activities so property infrastructure and applications stay functional, and administer and maintain mail and email
• Maintain inventories of IT hardware and software, provide internet and cable management support, and generate system communications for users
• Consult on application and hardware/software problems, give feedback to Lodging IR on performance, and enforce IR policies and standards
• Plan and schedule projects, assess needs against brand standards, budget and capital requirements, and perform on-site monitoring
• Lead the IR team, act as escalation point for vendor issues, and coordinate with IR Shared Services and other systems staff
• Ensure fair treatment of employees and fair administration of property policies

Required profile

• BS/BA or equivalent education
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
• Previous experience in IR Global Field Services or Marriott Systems Support desirable
• System-related professional certifications desired
