Senior Data Governance & MDM Engineer

About the role

RQMNA is building sovereign data platforms that a nation can trust. We are looking for a Senior Data Governance & MDM Engineer to operationalise governance, lineage, master data, classification and retention on a national, multi‑tenant data estate located in Muscat.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the data governance framework across a polyglot, multi‑tenant environment.
• Run and maintain the data catalog, lineage, and business glossary with agreed definitions.
• Define, steward and manage master data and golden records through MDM processes.
• Set data quality rules, monitor compliance and drive remediation of bad data.
• Implement data classification, retention policies and automated right‑to‑erasure in line with data protection law.
• Establish data ownership and stewardship operating models across teams and entities.
• Manage metadata to make data discoverable and well understood.
• Collaborate with data architects, BI, security and compliance teams and lead governance forums.

Required profile

• Proven experience running data governance, MDM or data quality initiatives at enterprise scale.
• Hands‑on knowledge of cataloging, lineage and business glossaries with the ability to enforce definitions.
• Experience building master data, golden records and solving real data‑quality problems.
• Understanding of data classification, retention and privacy regulations and how to enforce them.
• Ability to set up a stewardship operating model and drive data ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a valuable advantage.
