Senior Environmental Engineer

About the role

Wood is recruiting a Senior Environmental Engineer to provide expertise so that all projects and operational activities meet environmental standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies. The assignment lasts one year and focuses on brownfield and greenfield opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, review and approval of environmental studies, assessments, impact assessments, baseline studies, monitoring plans, waste management strategies and mitigation measures.
• Integrate environmental requirements into project designs, engineering documents and construction methods, and coordinate with process, civil, mechanical, HSE and construction teams.
• Validate environmental models, calculations and monitoring results, and review submissions for regulator approval.
• Liaise with environmental authorities, consultants and contractors, and review contractor environmental management plans, method statements and monitoring programmes.
• Support procurement teams on materials, waste and emissions requirements, and support environmental due diligence and sustainability assessments.
• Conduct site visits, prepare environmental engineering reports, decision notes and regulatory submissions, and maintain environmental records for audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in a relevant position.
• Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in downstream, refinery and petrochemical environments.
• Proven experience in FEED project execution and ESIA report review.
• Relevant environmental qualification.
