Senior Java Engineer

About the role

RQMNA is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to design and deliver high‑code, cloud‑native services that extend beyond low‑code platforms. You will work on‑site in Muscat, building resilient, high‑performance micro‑services that run at national scale for government and large‑enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud‑native Java micro‑services for the platform’s core functionality.
• Develop reactive, event‑driven services where throughput and resilience are critical.
• Expose clean REST APIs and integrate with existing platform and data services.
• Utilize modern JVM tooling and GraalVM native images for fast startup and a small footprint.
• Containerize applications and deploy them on Kubernetes using automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Write testable, observable production‑grade code with built‑in metrics and tracing.
• Mentor peers, contribute reusable services, and promote best engineering practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating cloud‑native Java services at scale.
• Strong knowledge of modern JVM development, micro‑services architecture, and container deployment.
• Hands‑on experience with reactive or event‑driven programming, or a willingness to learn.
• Ability to design clean APIs and focus on performance, footprint, and resilience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
