Job description
About the role
RQMNA is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own and operate the sovereign Kubernetes platform that powers government and enterprise services. Based in Muscat, you will ensure the platform is always on, secure, and ready for rapid delivery of new services.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, upgrade, and operate an enterprise Kubernetes platform (Red Hat OpenShift), including control plane, networking, and storage.
- Perform Day‑2 operations: patching, version upgrades, capacity planning, health monitoring, and multi‑cluster management.
- Build an internal developer platform with golden‑path templates for self‑service.
- Automate infrastructure as code, enforce guardrails with policy as code, and manage CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.
- Secure the software supply chain using signing, SBOMs, and SLSA‑aligned controls.
- Define reliability targets (SLOs, error budgets) and lead incident response.
- Implement deep observability across metrics, logs, traces, and eBPF‑based tooling.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams in a sovereign, on‑prem, sometimes air‑gapped environment.
Required profile
- Proven experience deploying, upgrading, and operating production Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters.
- Strong automation mindset with IaC, GitOps, and policy‑as‑code practices.
- Focus on reliability: SLOs, error budgets, and proactive incident prevention.
- Commitment to software supply‑chain security, signing, and SBOM generation.
- Comfort working in sovereign, on‑prem environments rather than managed cloud services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Calm under pressure and capable of writing clear runbooks.
- Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
