Food Buyer

About the role

The Hypermarket Chain in Oman is seeking a Food Buyer to manage the procurement of food products for its retail operations. This full‑time, permanent position offers the opportunity to develop a long‑term career in a leading retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and select food suppliers that meet quality, price and delivery criteria.
• Negotiate contracts, terms and pricing with vendors to achieve optimal cost savings.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Coordinate purchase orders, track deliveries and resolve any supply issues.
• Collaborate with store managers and merchandising teams to forecast demand and plan purchases.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in food purchasing or a related buying role.
• Strong knowledge of food products, market trends and supplier landscape.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage purchasing activities efficiently.
• Willingness to relocate to and work in Muscat, Oman.
