Intermediate Drainage Design Engineer

About the role

Renardet SA and Partners Oman is looking for an experienced Drainage Design Engineer (5‑8 years) to join its Oman team. You will work independently on hydrological and hydraulic design tasks and support the delivery of stormwater infrastructure across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological assessments using GIS and software such as HEC‑RAS, SSA, StormCAD, SWMM or equivalents.
• Design and size stormwater conveyance systems, including pipe networks and open channels.
• Create construction‑ready drawings and documentation in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (alignments, profiles, grading, pipe networks).
• Prepare clear design reports and technical memoranda in English.
• Present design methodology, results and recommendations to clients.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor less‑experienced staff.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of professional experience in drainage engineering, preferably in consulting.
• Proven ability to perform hydrological modelling using GIS and recognized tools.
• Strong competence in hydraulic design of both piped and open‑channel systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a postgraduate qualification in Water Resources or Hydrology is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English and confidence in client‑facing situations.
