Investment Auditor – Private Equity & Public Markets

About the role

The Investment Auditor is responsible for planning, executing and reporting audits across OIA’s investment activities, with a focus on private equity and public‑market portfolios. The role provides independent assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls, compliance and operational practices throughout the investment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review investment identification, due‑diligence processes, financial models and valuation methodologies.
• Assess controls over investment monitoring, portfolio performance reporting and asset‑management activities.
• Audit compliance with investment mandates, policies, delegated authorities and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate capital‑call, distribution, accounting and performance‑measurement processes.
• Examine trade execution, portfolio rebalancing, broker management and best‑execution practices.
• Plan and perform risk‑based audits covering private equity, public markets and related operations.
• Develop audit programs, testing procedures and workpapers in line with global internal‑audit standards.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies and compliance gaps, and recommend practical improvements.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of investment management, financial instruments and related controls.
• Experience auditing investment processes, valuation, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to analyse financial and business impacts and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIA) or equivalent experience.
