Chief Operating Officer / Associate Deputy Rector – Finance & Operations

About the role

The MAJD Group and University are seeking a seasoned executive to serve as COO and Associate Deputy Rector for Administration, Finance & Strategic Operations. Reporting to the Rector, the incumbent will drive financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and governance while aligning administrative services with the institution’s academic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct governance reviews, define corporate KPIs, and maintain the operating manual and institutional performance metrics.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting cycles, and ensure transparent cost control.
• Develop and manage non‑academic revenue streams to diversify income.
• Implement cost‑saving initiatives and automated financial systems to improve reporting and decision‑making.
• Oversee HR, procurement, facilities, IT, HSSE and other administrative functions.
• Ensure compliance with Omani labor laws and institutional governance standards.

Required profile

• Degree or Master’s in Business Administration, Management or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
• Minimum three years of senior leadership experience in finance, administration or strategic operations.
