Corporate Risk Officer

About the role

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG is looking for a Corporate Risk Officer in Muscat to lead the development and continuous improvement of its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework. The role acts as the central point of contact for all risk matters and advises senior leadership on the risk implications of strategic and operational initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess strategic, financial, operational, regulatory and reputational risks, and recommend mitigation actions
• Run risk workshops with senior leadership and maintain the corporate risk register and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
• Monitor emerging risks, track mitigation execution and escalate gaps or non-compliance
• Provide assurance to executive management and Board committees on risk control effectiveness
• Oversee risk governance, run compliance reviews and gap assessments, and embed risk management into strategy, budgeting and decision-making
• Define risk appetite, prepare risk reports and dashboards for the CEO and Board, and promote a risk-aware culture

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Law, Business Administration or a related field; Master's preferred
• 14-18 years of relevant experience in enterprise risk management, governance or compliance
• At least 5-8 years in a senior leadership role
• Experience in engineering and construction environments highly preferred
