Division Finance Head - FMCG Commodity Products

About the role

Wodehouse Ventures is hiring a Division Finance Head in Oman for its Consumer Products cluster, covering commodity products such as parachute, Al Alali, Amul, Sunwhite, Syrenn Saffron, rice, sugar, flour and pulses. The role manages financial and sales accounting, ensures controls and policy adherence, drives financial KPIs and reports to the Division Head.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit monthly P&L and balance sheet reports, highlight variances above 5% and review general and sub-ledgers before closing books
• Review exceptional items such as non-compliance, slow-moving inventory, abnormal expiry, damaged stock, thefts, cash shortages and ageing receivables, and implement HO accounting policies
• Review supplier payments and capex proposals, provide provisions for aged inventory and receivables, and reconcile customer, vendor, principal recoverable and bank accounts
• Manage working capital, review borrowing from the head office and banks, and ensure timely collection of customer payments
• Handle receivables: credit limits, PDC deposits, and legal recovery claims for overdue amounts over 1 year; review purchases above threshold before purchase orders
• Prepare tax returns, coordinate with auditors for annual closing, ensure VAT and other tax compliance, and review commercial and legal documents
• Monitor budget performance, evaluate new business opportunities (exports, agencies, projects) and implement finance and IT initiatives
• Outsource routine tasks to the India team and train the team

Required profile

• Graduate or postgraduate degree; MBA preferred
• Minimum 6-10 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial position leading a team of 4 to 7 people
• FMCG product experience mandatory; SAP experience mandatory
• Knowledge of local GAAP and tax laws, sound commercial knowledge and good communication skills
