Digital Asset Specialist

About the role

The Central Bank of Oman seeks an experienced Digital Asset Specialist to help build a compliant digital asset ecosystem, focusing on tokenizing real‑world assets and integrating distributed ledger technology into financial products.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of ecosystem strategies, including partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
• Analyze tokenization use cases across business, technical and regulatory dimensions.
• Track market, technology and regulatory developments and advise management.
• Translate business needs into digital‑asset solutions covering token structure, ledger choice, smart‑contract logic, custody, identity and settlement.
• Select and assess DLT platforms and token standards against functional, security, scalability and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct technical due diligence on vendors, platforms and third‑party solutions.
• Oversee proof‑of‑concepts, pilots and testing, and recommend go‑live decisions.
• Identify operational, regulatory and technological risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to policy discussions, whitepapers and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, finance, economics or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in financial services, fintech or technology with hands‑on DLT experience.
• Strong knowledge of real‑world asset tokenization structures and market practice.
• Understanding of banking, payments and capital markets, preferably with insight into Islamic finance.
