Duty Engineer (Hotel)

About the role

As a Duty Engineer at Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s building systems, guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and other building systems.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and operational emergencies.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities to ensure compliance with IHG brand standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Monitor plant and engineering equipment performance, reporting defects or major maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire and environmental regulations and hotel policies.
• Support energy‑conservation and sustainability initiatives.
• Maintain accurate engineering tools, equipment inventories and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to support daily operations and deliver excellent guest service.

Required profile

• Diploma or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance, including at least 2 years in GCC countries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain hotel engineering systems efficiently.
• Good communication, teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
• Service‑oriented attitude, able to work independently and under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays and emergency call‑outs.
