Fruits & Vegetables Team Leader – Retail

About the role

The Fruits & Vegetables Team Leader is responsible for delivering a high‑quality fresh‑produce experience in a hypermarket environment. You will oversee daily operations, ensure product freshness, and drive sales while leading a motivated team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the fruits and vegetables section, maintaining freshness, quality and availability.
• Monitor assortment, pricing and promotions to boost sales performance.
• Control inventory, stock replenishment and delivery schedules to minimise out‑of‑stock situations.
• Reduce waste and shrinkage through effective stock rotation, handling procedures and quality checks.
• Identify slow‑moving items and implement promotional actions to maximise sell‑through before spoilage.
• Ensure merchandising standards, planograms and pricing accuracy are consistently applied.
• Enforce health, safety, hygiene and food‑handling standards while keeping the department clean.
• Lead, coach and develop the team to provide excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a fruits and vegetables department or similar retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of fresh‑produce quality standards, stock rotation and freshness management.
• Experience in inventory control, waste reduction and merchandising best practices.
• Proven leadership, organisational and customer‑service abilities with a results‑driven approach.
