Loadout Engineer – Offshore Modules & Heavy Structures

About the role

The Loadout Engineer is responsible for planning, engineering and supervising the loadout of offshore modules, skids, jackets and heavy structures. The role ensures that all loadout activities are executed safely, efficiently and in compliance with project specifications and international marine transportation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive loadout plans, methodologies and execution procedures for offshore equipment.
• Review loadout drawings, transport analyses, sea‑fastening arrangements and structural integrity requirements.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Marine and QA/QC teams to confirm readiness for loadout operations.
• Verify load distribution, bearing pressure, stability calculations and transportation analyses.
• Supervise module loadout operations using SPMTs, skidding systems, trailers and load‑transfer equipment.
• Monitor critical lifting, ballasting, de‑ballasting and vessel positioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, conduct HAZID/HAZOP/SIMOPS/JSA reviews and report incidents or non‑conformities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating loadout or heavy‑lift operations in offshore or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of structural behavior, sea‑fastening and marine transportation standards.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including marine contractors, surveyors and client representatives.
• Attention to detail for pre‑loadout inspections, readiness reviews and documentation control.

Required skills

• Operation of Self‑Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) and skidding systems.
• Load distribution, bearing pressure and stability calculations.
• Transportation analysis for heavy structures.
• Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Sea‑fastening fabrication and installation knowledge.
• Familiarity with equipment certification, inspection records and test reports.
