Senior Site Engineer – Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Site Engineer – Systems to lead the installation, integration and testing of critical transport systems on large rail and public‑transport projects. The role will ensure that all system works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise on‑site installation and integration of signalling, telecommunications, electrical, SCADA, AFC and CCTV systems.
• Review design drawings, technical specifications and method statements to guarantee correct implementation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify progress, quality and compliance with safety procedures.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, interface issues and site constraints during installation and testing.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, design engineers and client representatives to ensure smooth execution.
• Support and monitor system testing and commissioning activities, confirming performance meets project requirements.
• Manage site documentation such as inspection records, daily reports, non‑conformance reports and as‑built drawings.
• Lead system interface management across civil, track, rolling stock and MEP disciplines.
• Monitor contractor compliance with schedules, flag risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Ensure proper implementation of permit‑to‑work, HSE procedures and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in systems installation and commissioning on large infrastructure projects, preferably in rail or public‑transport sectors.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex site activities.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and permit‑to‑work processes.
