Trainee Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Trainee Housekeeping Supervisor is an entry‑level supervisory position within a hotel housekeeping department. The role is designed to develop leadership, operational knowledge, and hands‑on experience needed to manage housekeeping activities in line with Crowne Plaza and IHG standards. You will support the Housekeeping Management team to ensure high standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and colleague performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor and management team in overseeing daily housekeeping operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Monitor room status, coordinate with Front Office on readiness, priorities, and special requests.
• Allocate daily assignments to Room Attendants and other housekeeping staff.
• Follow up on VIP rooms, special occasions, guest requests, and priority rooms.
• Ensure housekeeping equipment, cleaning materials, linen, and guest supplies are properly maintained and available.
• Report maintenance issues to the relevant department.
• Support coaching, training, and briefing of housekeeping colleagues at shift start.
• Monitor attendance, grooming, punctuality, productivity, and adherence to hotel standards.
• Promote teamwork, respect, and a positive working environment.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and report hazards or unsafe practices.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping.
• Supervisory or leadership experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Good knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures and standards.
